LEWIS REEVES

You upgraded from hunting ghosts, to chasing demons. You like a challenge don’t you?
Well in Harry Price I didn’t get to do much of the hunting, it was more the investigation side of things, so to roll my sleeves up and get involved in the action was great! Although Jake is not the best at demon hunting, so I’m not expecting any roles along side Van Damme anytime soon.

What are ghosts or demons metaphors of? Why are young TV audiences constantly in need of shows like CRAZYHEAD ?
They can be used as metaphors for anything to anyone. Anyone that has felt the need to suppress a part of themselves, or hide something from other people. Their hidden demons, I think that’s something we can all relate to. With ghosts it’s very much the same, we’re all are haunted or carry around the past in some form, whether these ghost haunt or inspire you depends on where you are in your life. So these genre based shows are great for drawing those parallels and helping us all deal with them or you can just enjoy a good thrill or a scare from them.

Is the legacy of BUFFY hanging over a project like CRAZYHEAD?
No not at all for me personally, I never saw the show so for me it’s something new and exciting,  and I think it will be for many others as well. I’m aware of some similarities but this is CRAZYHEAD, it has its own world and its own way of doing things.

They say that doing nudity on stage is very liberatory and empowering, but honestly how was your first time?
Honestly it’s fine! It’s empowering and all that, but by the time you’re performing the show you’re not really thinking about the nudity as you’re in the moment. However the first rehearsal I did was pretty tough. I went through the scene at about 100 miles an hour and the only thing I could think about was that everyone is staring at my bits!! Haha!

Also you have recently acted in video game. What are the technicalities of green screen acting? Does the technology get in the way of the emotion?
That was a whole new kettle of fish that required a whole new respect and craft that I had to get used to. The technology only gets in the way when your bashing head cams as you need to watch your space, but in actual fact it’s so much quicker than tv or film as you’re in the same studio through out and have all of your surroundings under control. To do motion capture for FIFA 17 a game I’ve played for years was a boyhood dream come true!!!

What is your favorite script or play of all times?
I don’t have a favourite as such as my taste changes all the time. But I recently watched a video of James Earl Jones performing August Wilsons FENCES and I had also watched the play many years ago. I read it a couple of weeks ago and just love it. There’s something about it that really resonates with me at the moment. Although catch me next week and I may hate it.

Any new projects confirmed for the near future?
There’s Unforgotten season 2 which is out early next year so sit tight.  But for now, I’m caught and very excited by my FIFA and CRAZYHEAD world!
