GEORGE SEAR

Tell us about your first acting experience.
My first acting experience was back when I was about three years old and I’d imitate Dick Van Dyke’s character in Mary Poppins; I had the whole one-man-band routine down! I properly got into acting by going to a stage school and being sent for auditions when I was about ten when I landed a part on The Bill.

What’s the best thing about being a young actor?
Constantly learning.

We’ve heard that you’re extremely passionate about street dance. How did you get into dancing?
Back in school a teacher played the class a video of her son, a professional dancer, breakdancing. I was blown away and instantly inspired, so I started teaching myself how to Windmill (a power move) through YouTube videos. I joined a class where my school teacher’s son taught and progressed from there.

What would you be doing if you were not acting?
Probably something creative, I’ve always enjoyed writing and other elements of filmmaking so maybe I would have gone down that route. I’d still like to one day.

What’s your favourite spot in Essex?
When I go back to visit I always appreciate the nature! My Nan has a beach-hut so BBQ’s on the beach are always nice in the Summer.

Which actor do you look up to as a role model?
Many! But I’ve always had a man-crush on James Franco, I got to sit in at two of his classes at UCLA. It was cool to just to meet him and see how he works.
