ROB EVANS

Where did you grow up and what dreams did you have?
I grew up in Belfast, Ireland. I guess I wanted to be some sort of athlete, a boxer or sprinter.

When did you get into boxing and how has it changed you?
I got into boxing at the age of 19 and it changed my life. At the time I wasn’t doing much other than hanging around the streets doing the wrong things.

What do you identify with the most – being a model or boxer and why?
Boxing most definitely! There is more of a sense of achievement in it.

In three words describe your experience as a judge on America’s Next Top Model?
Surreal, proud and blessed.

Can you tell us a little about how you prepare for a big fight?
When I fight the training camp is a little crazy, it’s about 2 months long. I normally wake up at 6:30 every morning. I go for a three mile run with intervals and sprints between lamp posts. I then get to the gym and work on my boxing skills for two hours (sparring, pad work, bag work, shadow boxing and other boxing drills).  I  get a two hour rest to eat before I do another two hour session sparring and doing strength and conditioning. I finish the day by running back home which is another three miles. I would do this every day and pick up the pace for two months before a fight.

What’s currently playing on repeat on your playlist?
As of right now I would have to say it’s the new Kanye West album but I listen to anything to be honest.

What’s the one thing you’re obsessed with and can’t live without?
The gym!
